Who it's for

No workshop visit required

Not everyone can get to us. You might be four hours away, the car might not be road legal yet, or you might just not fancy a full day out for a Stage 1.

Which tool you get depends on your ECU. We use Alientech and Autotuner equipment and send whichever one properly supports your vehicle. Both are professional-grade tools, not cheap clones. Send us your reg and we will confirm before you order.

The process

How it works

Five steps from enquiry to a mapped car, with no laptop and no mechanical knowledge needed.

01

Tell us your car

Send us the registration, engine, gearbox and anything you have already fitted. Intake, exhaust, intercooler, all of it. We check your ECU is supported before you spend a penny.

02

We send the tool

It arrives preconfigured for your vehicle and plugs into the OBD port under the dash. Everything is driven from an app on your phone.

03

You read the original file

Plug in and follow the prompts. The tool reads your factory software and uploads it to us. Takes a few minutes.

04

We write your map

Not a generic file pulled off a database. We build it against the calibration we have developed for your platform on our dyno, then adjust for whatever you have told us about the car.

05

You flash it

The file comes back through the app. Plug in, write, done. Your original file stays stored on the tool and on our system.

Got datalogging kit? Send us the logs after a drive and we will check the map is behaving on your car, then adjust and send a revised file if anything needs it. Not essential, but it is the closest you will get to a live dyno session from your own driveway.

Developed, not downloaded

Why this isn't a guess

The fair question with any remote map is how we know it is right without the car in front of us. The answer is that we have already had cars like yours in front of us.

We run a 4WD DynoDynamics rolling road at our workshop in Coventry, and the files we send out are the same calibrations developed and proven there. Every figure we publish comes from our own dyno, not manufacturer claims.

These are the platforms with the most development time behind them:

Ford

  • Fiesta ST
  • Focus ST
  • Focus RS

Vauxhall

  • Astra VXR
  • Corsa VXR

VAG

  • Golf R
  • Audi S3
  • Seat Cupra
  • Skoda vRS

BMW

  • B58 — 140i / 240i
  • B58 — 340i / 440i

Mini

  • Cooper S R56
  • Cooper S F56
  • JCW

That list is where our specialism sits, not the limit of what we cover. We tune a far wider range than that, from other hot hatches and performance saloons through to daily diesels and vans, and plenty of it goes out as flash at home. If your car is supported, we can do it.

Send us your registration and we will tell you straight whether we are happy to tune it remotely, or whether you would be better off bringing it to the rolling road.

Reversible

Switchable maps

The tool holds your original file alongside the modified one, so the car goes back to standard whenever you need it.

About ten minutes on your driveway, then flash the map back on afterwards. Useful for MOT, dealer servicing, warranty work, or selling the car on. You keep the tool either way.

Pricing

Tool and first map together, then a flat rate whenever you go up a stage.

Tool and first map

Preconfigured for your vehicle with your first map included. Enter your registration on WP-Tuning for the price on your car.

Change your car and the tool comes with you. We can unlock it for your next vehicle, so you never pay for the hardware twice. Just drop us a message when the time comes.

£100

Stage 1 to Stage 2 upgrade

Once the intercooler and exhaust go on, your Stage 2 file is £100. Same if you add something else later and want the map bringing up to date, or want a separate map for track days.

No second trip, no second dyno session, and nothing to buy again.

Questions

The things people ask

Straight answers before you commit.

Will it damage my engine?

Every file has already been put through its paces on our rolling road on cars like yours before it goes anywhere near your ECU. Nothing we send out is untested.

We work within safe limits for the hardware rather than chasing headline figures, and we will not tune a car with existing faults. Run a scan first and tell us what comes up.

Is it as good as having it done on the dyno?

For a Stage 1 on a standard car, honestly, yes. The software is near enough identical between two examples of the same engine, and it is rare to have to move away from the base map at all. Same map, same tuner.

What the dyno adds is a printed before and after on your specific car, and the chance to catch anything unusual while it is happening. That matters more once you are into Stage 2 and beyond, or if the car has been modified in ways we cannot see from here.

If you have datalogging kit, send us the logs and we will check the map is doing what it should on your car and adjust it if anything needs it. That gets you most of the way to a live session without the drive.

What about my warranty?

If the car is in manufacturer warranty, assume a remap affects the powertrain cover if they find it. Put the car back to standard before it goes in. Out of warranty, this is not a concern.

Do I need to tell my insurer?

Yes. A remap is a modification and it needs declaring. Most insurers are fine with it, some load the premium. Failing to declare it is the thing that causes problems.

What if something goes wrong during the flash?

Rare, but recoverable. The original file is backed up in two places before anything is written. If the process stops halfway, ring us and we will walk you through it.

How long does the whole thing take?

The tool arrives in a couple of days. Reading and flashing is under an hour of your time in total. The bit in between depends on how busy we are, usually same day.
