Genuine Ford replacement cam bucket for the high pressure fuel pump on the 1.5 EcoBoost three-cylinder in the MK8 Fiesta ST and Puma ST.
The bucket sits between the cam lobe and the HPFP plunger, taking the load every time the pump strokes. Over time the contact face wears, the pump loses stroke and fuel rail pressure starts falling away under load. It’s a cheap part, and replacing it can sometimes cure low pressure problems without needing a new pump.
Signs your cam bucket could be worn:
- Hesitation or flat spots under boost
- Low fuel rail pressure codes such as P0087
- Engine management light or limp mode
- Rough running or stalling
Worth keeping in mind: if the bucket has been worn for a long time, it can damage the pump plunger as well. If you’re getting the pump off anyway, check its contact face. If it’s marked, you’ll want our genuine Ford HPFP alongside this (also available as a pump and bucket kit).
