WP Stage 2 — 430–440bhp / up to 550Nm
Stage 2 pushes the factory Continental turbo to its safe limit. With the restrictive OPF and catalytic converter removed via a performance downpipe, and supported by an upgraded intercooler and intake, we extract 430–440bhp and up to 550Nm — the maximum the stock turbo can reliably deliver.
The Cat is the single biggest exhaust restriction on the MK8 Golf R. Removing it allows the turbo to spool faster, sustain higher boost levels and breathe freely at the top of the rev range. Combined with the intercooler and intake upgrades, it unlocks a noticeably sharper, more responsive car with a broader powerband and a much more engaging exhaust note.
At Stage 2, our DSG calibration is essential — not optional. The DQ381 gearbox needs to know about the increased torque to shift safely and effectively. Our TCU tune raises torque limits, sharpens shifts and optimises shift points to match the engine's new output.
